UNNA is a home between the sea and a mangrove forest. A triangle shaped land, facing south. Built by locals, using natural materials. Inspired by the Filipino island way of life.
UNNA is family run and owned. Our goal is to support the island community through livelihood and creative expression. We are open for private stays this summer 2025. Shop and artist residency soon.
The property is located on the small and secluded island of Puro in Romblon, Philippines. Puro is the Filipino word for pure. An island inhabited by less than a hundred families and has no roads nor establishments. It reminds us of old Philippines.
The shape of a child’s drawing of a house.
So far, we have designed and built a living hut - a shared space where UNNA shop is also located. Bedroom huts - two of which we are renting out, each with its own living and dining space. Kitchen hut - a shared space run by our chef. Library hut - a collection of our favorite art and history books. Studio hut - a multifunctional space dedicated to artists. Outdoor areas - for sports, film showing, exhibits and small events.
A total 4,000 sqm of white sand and coconut trees. Our shore is 260 meters wide and the beds are 20 steps from the shore.
Much like the island, we plan to remain small. To stay with its essence and its natural cycles. A team of neighbors, a humble structure, an intimate stay.
Our approach is focused on nature and human connection. We value simplicity and a freeing way of life. UNNA is an exploration of our ideas and intentions. Slowly forming and unbounded.
To build is to share.
A time for rest, a space to create.
UNNA is a family of creatives. Vianca Soleil Roquero, designer and founder. Noelle Chantal Roquero-Prieto, designer, in charge of guest relations. Joffri Edward Roquero-Luriz, designer, in charge of collaborations.
